Most of us have started team-building meetings or retreats with a question like, “What do you expect to learn (or gain) from today’s session?” Perhaps that causes participants to feel they are a beneficiary of the meeting rather than a player.

Question:

How will a different opening question enrich your meeting? What behaviours change when you open with, “What do you hope to contribute to today’s session?” How will you affirm participants who deliver on their stated contributions?
