I asked a group of business people a new question this past week. “What do you need protection from?” Unexpectedly, the conversations focussed inward and not on the external world. I was surprised that most of the responses were “protection from myself.” Wow. Don’t each of us need that?

Question:

Who will you enlist to protect you from yourself? Who will you give permission to call you on your stupid ideas, dumb habits and high-risk activities? Who will you actually pay attention to when they say, “wait” or “slow down” or “think this through” or “what the heck are you thinking?” Who will you trust to keep you safe from yourself?
