I’ve had a hip problem since the summer. The medical people, X-ray and all, seem to think I’m just getting old. Well, I went to a physiotherapist this past week and an unexpected thing happened. After some questions and some pushing and pulling, she suggested I do one, yes ONE, simple exercise every 2-3 hours. The pain went down significantly and a few days later, she suggested two, yes just TWO, exercises that will increase the mobility in the joint. It’s working!

Question:

Are your trying to solve problems in your organization by prescribing solutions that are so complex and detailed people don’t do them? What if you make it easy by suggesting one little thing that will help a little bit? Then, after a period of doing that one thing and seeing some modest improvement, what if you suggest two little things that will move it along?
