There are words for everything; if a word doesn’t exist for something it will soon be created or an existing word will be borrowed. I heard one such word the other day – thrashing. “Thrashing” describes the overloaded state many of us develop where we can no longer do our best work (or even good work).

What about you; does the term “thrashing” apply? Are you so busy bouncing from one thing to another that you never quite do your best work? What has to go? What has to change? What will you do differently this week? Are there others in your organization that you should talk with about “thrashing” in the next few days?
