MYou know the saying – “If you’re a hammer, everything looks like a nail.” Specifically, how does that thought apply to you? I’ve met a number of executives who pride themselves in their ability to put out fires. Thus, predictably, fires spring up around them all the time. And sadly, firefighting crowds out the ability to grow the business and its impact.

Question:

If you find yourself fighting fires most days, what changes when you refuse to see an issue or setback or concern as a fire, and intentionally treat each one as an opportunity for growth? What results will you anticipate when you declare and enforce that your workplace is a “fire-free” zone?
