A mentor of mine had a plaque on his desk that said: “Good decisions come from experience. Experience comes from bad decisions.” That was 25 years ago and I’ve not forgotten. Mistakes sharpen people and organizations; effective leaders know that and move ahead because of it.

Question:

What happens in your organization when someone makes a mistake? How do you respond when things go wrong or when something doesn’t work out? Now….even bigger than that, how do you talk with your managers about responding to individuals in their area who misfire; what do you say, what do you expect, what do you model?
