Who decided that “fire-fighting” would become the central task of a leader? For many of us, aggressive attention to the seemingly urgent has neutered our organization. Mother Nature knows that many fires just burn themselves out; in fact she often uses fire and its results to prepare the ground for new growth.


What changes can you expect for your organization and for yourself when you consciously choose which fires you will fight and allow many of them to just burn out? What one thing will you do to shift your culture in this direction?
