I’ll never understand leaders who see morale and culture as HR’s responsibility. My experience shows, morale-enhancing programs rarely deliver lasting change. Enlightened leaders know the best way to strengthen corporate culture is to give their people something significant to accomplish or something valuable to fight for, to resource them appropriately, to empower them significantly, and to turn them loose. The fight itself brings the team together better than any contrived initiative.

Question:

What challenge can you give your team that, when accomplished, will result in a lasting culture shift? How might you introduce it? When will you start?
