I was going through an old notebook this morning and came across these rambling thoughts.
The anti-leader: Asks doesn’t tell. Listens rather than speaks. Puts outcomes before processes. Sees people before dollars. Puts vision before goals. Puts goals before strategies. Puts strategies before tactics. Mentors rather than teaches. Coaches rather than bosses. Thinks like a servant. Thinks next year before tomorrow. Gives credit, doesn’t seek credit. Sees employees as customers. Sees customers as partners in making team members look great. Develops people of character not a company of rules. Rewards people for taking chances rather than avoids the risks that lead to mistakes. Cares more about the person than the position.
How many of these upside down approaches do you take?
